Learn & Explore At the Park, April 2, 2018 - April 6, 2018: A week full of activities for children ages 6-12 who want to learn and discover about the environment around them. These programs support the North Carolina Junior Ranger Program. Every day is a new activity. Space is limited; contact the park office to register: 910-326-4881.
Monday: Introduction & Insects: The group will get a chance to collect insects and use different tools to identify what they caught. Make a craft for monarch butterflies.
Tuesday - Discovery Nature Hike: A time to stretch your legs and explore through the forest with a ranger. Explore the different habitats through a Nature Scavenger hunt!
Wednesday - Fire Safety: Learn the ins and outs of a good campfire, the science behind it, and how to prepare yourself for a fun and safe time out in the woods.
Thursday - Reptiles: Learn about the various species that can be found in or near the park and discover their natural history including snakes, lizards, and turtles.
Friday - Awards Ceremony and Cookout - Gazebo
